“I started playing hurling when I was five. Hurling is a Gaelic game with a ball and stick. The basics are: first touch, catching the ball, and striking. It’s fun, but it can put bruises everywhere. Most people outside of Ireland don’t know about hurling, but everyone here watches or plays it. We have a stadium that seats 82,000. I want to play for Claire; the best players go there.
My family are dairy farmers around our village of Sixmilebridge. My great-grandfather started farming cattle, and I will keep up with that after I finish school.”
