My wife loves poetry, so I am reading her book of poetry to get to know her better

November 16, 2019

“I am enjoying a week off. I recently moved to Corpus Christie, Texas for a job in the oil fields. I came back two days ago because my wife is still here. I moved to Mobile eight years ago and met her at a dance club. Her brother was playing in the band and we were the only ones dancing. I loved her from the beginning.   We have been married for seven years and stayed in Mobile longer than we expected because we loved it. She comes out in December. I am ready. Last night we danced in the living room to Spanish music.

I have learned a lot by watching other people in my life make choices and mistakes. I could have gone another way but I saw how it turned out. Much of last year was trying to find the right job and where I am supposed to be and it feels good to finally be there. I am proud that I am a good husband and trying to be a good man. I am learning that marriage is work, but I love her. She loves poetry and I am reading her book of poetry, The Dark Between Stars. Me being away for two months without her has been the darkness between our stars. I am reading this book to get to know her better and see the inside of her world. She is a wedding videographer and I help her when I can.  Life flies by and I am ready to share it again with her.”
