“I had open heart surgery six years ago and got a pacemaker and the doctor said slow down, no more work. I miss it. I thought I had heartburn. I took Rolaids and it went away. The next day it kicked my ass and I went to the ER. They immediately sent me back to surgery. I counted to 96 and I was out. When I came back to, my heart was better. We don’t know when our time is going to be up. Sunrise over the water make me happy. I used to take my wife to Gulf Shores for the sunrise. It looks like it is coming out of the water. We have been divorced for almost 11 years. She left me after 14 years of marriage for a convict who had been in for 2 counts of child abuse. She told me she wanted a divorce because she was tired and wanted a change. I told her there is the door, don’t let it hit you in the ass on the way out because the grass isn’t greener on the other side. The judges gave her the land and trailer I owned before we got married. During a hurricane, a pine tree went down on the center of the trailer. I just thought ‘payback is a bitch’.”
Good enough isn’t an option. It’s got to be the best I can do.

Wow! What a story. What I got out of it is: you never know when your life could be snatched away through loss or through death…so take a day at a time and fill it with joy! No self pity allowed!
