We are missionaries and moved to Haiti in 2014, to do children’s street ministry

“We have been married for five years. We both grew up in church in Robertsdale, our parents are best friends and we have know each other all of our lives. We are missionaries and moved to Haiti in 2014, to do children’s street ministry. We started a non-profit, Hearts of Many Colors, that is Baldwin County based. Since I was 12-years-old, I thought I wanted to go to Africa, but we were called to Haiti instead. We are becoming a part of the community and are now fluent in Haitian Creole. We are working with moms who have 10 kids and live in 10′ x 16′ sheds. We want to help the moms who keep having the kids and are working with kids who are known as the trouble makers. The solution is creating jobs, but most don’t have the mindset to be entrepreneurs. There is a sense of community and respect and they take care of each other. This is our first summer back and you forget how hot it gets here.”
