Justin: “I moved to Mobile from Mississippi and didn’t know anyone. I got into a Mardi Gras organization and immediately made new friends with people that I love, and they love me. We’re a small family. I’m not in the organization anymore, but they still treat me like I am. 

Roxie: I met Justin because my mom said there was a guy at her work that I needed to meet. I was like, ‘No, Mom. I’m not meeting somebody that you work with.’ She said, ‘Oh, come on, come on.’ She wore me down, and hi-yo, here we are. We’ve been together nine years, married five.  He’s the best thing I’ve ever found. My mom is surprised that I gave him a shot.”

What is your favorite thing about each other?

Justin: “Is it my soft skin? She loves my soft skin.”

Roxie: “It is. No lotion and his skin is soft like butter. How does that happen?” 

Justin: “She goes above and beyond for me–and it’s not just me. I brought a kid into the marriage. She might be mad at me but still treats him amazing.”

Roxie: “I love Justin, but that’s my kid. Justin and I also have a lot of fun together. Mardi Gras is a big part of that.”
