All of a sudden I was a preacher in the pulpit

July 9, 2017

“I never thought about preaching. I was teaching Bible classes and we were doing it in homes, but it got too big. I can’t tell you today how I ended up in the pulpit, but God arranged everything and all of a sudden I was a preacher in the pulpit. I wasn’t scared because I have always been a good Bible teacher. I want people to know what the Bible says and not just what they hear. A lot of people have a misunderstanding of the Bible and some of the things God means. I decided if God wanted me to preach, I would do it. He must have wanted me to do it because he always took care of me. I didn’t have to money to do some things, but then it would come and people helped. I can’t beg people for money and even taking up the offering is hard. God gives me an idea and I go to the Bible and see what God says about it and I preach it on Sunday. Some weeks I am dry as a bone, but there has to be a message anyway. I used to drink and smoke but when God got ready for me, he told me I would have to quit. I told him ‘If you take the taste out of my mouth, I will keep the bottle out of my hand.’ He took the taste out of my mouth. Same with smoking. I told the Lord ‘Whatever you want me to do, I’ll do it.'”
