“I am 11 years old. My best friend’s mom did chalk drawings in Houston and inspired me to do them in Fairhope. My mom did the first one and she helped me come up with some of the sentences. It felt good to put down words of hope. It gives me hope, too. Some people saw me writing and told me nice job. I appreciate all of the good things people have said about me, but it was the drawings they connected with. I signed them so maybe my friends would see them and know who did it. I am going to do more, I just need to get some ideas. My mom has taught me to always look on the bright side.
I play baseball, basketball, and golf. I do a little sketching. We had just started baseball and then it was canceled. I was on the Phillies and I was looking forward to this year. We move around with my dad’s job and I have lived in Las Vegas, Charlotte, and Houston, We moved to Fairhope right before the Houston Astros won the world series and they had snow.
My dream is to get through the pandemic and get baseball back again. I am working now with online classes. We have been doing things at home like doodle classes with Mo Willems, listen to the voice of Olaf reading bedtime stories, and FaceTiming family in Europe. I need chill time. My mother is making me work hard.”

(I am now doing Soul-cial distancing interviews by phone. If know someone I should interview, send me an message or email. [email protected])
