“I have worked on farms all of my life. It pays the bills and I like being outside. These cabbage are going to a fruit stand and they have to be pretty and perfect. I once smashed my hand in a tug grinder. I was a welder and a mechanic. Two of my fingers were barely hanging on by the skin and I took off running to get help. I guess it was adrenaline. The top of my hand is always numb, but at least the fingers are there.”
